A Journey across India: The call to Adventure

An easy, practical and in-sequence itinerary planner I have travelled the length and breadth of India, and am truly proud of its rich and varied heritage. I am amazed by the tradition and values, the people, festivals, celebrations and the changing landscape. Have you wondered if it's possible to travel across India completely? Most foreigners arriving in India, land in Delhi and then travel the Golden Triangle route first- which is a good decision incase you have limited time at hand and want to make the most of it. The Golden Triangle- Delhi, Agra and Jaipur includes the much hyped Taj Mahal which invariably is part of a tourist's bucket list. This blog on the other hand- is a sequential strategy and detailed 'been there done that' itinerary plan starting from Mumbai. I am sure as we go through this Journey you will understand India better. My experiences are based from the perspective of a - digital nomad, budget backpacker and from a local standpoint. "I was born in India, the cradle of poetry, philosophy and history. I belonged to that race, which wrote the Mahabharata and invented Chess - two concepts that bear within them, the Eternal and the Infinite.

Francisco Luis Gomes- 5th Jan 1861.

Luis de Menezes Braganza (1878 -1938)

Luis de Menezes Braganza was a revolutionary with a difference. He was born in a Hindu Dessai (Brahmin) family at Chandor, but now converted to Christianity. By virtue of being the grandson of a wealthy landlord, Luis had inherited vast property and was thus well-to-do. He was himself well-educated, having completed his studies from Rachol Seminary and Panjim's Lyceum school. Being a voracious reader he kept himself abreast with the happenings around the world.

Despite being born to the aristocratic household, he was a nationalist by heart and ironical as it may seem he wanted Goa to be liberated from Portuguese rule and preferred his mother tongue Konkani above as the official Portuguese language instead.

He inspired a generation through the power of his pen. During his lifetime, he had witnessed 3 different forms of Portuguese government- the liberal constitutional monarchy, Republic and Salazar's dictatorial rule. He stressed for a platform whereby educated and professional goans could discuss the issues that plagued Goa.

Even though he was raised in a converted Roman Catholic household, he himself had an agnostic bent of mind.
